Client’s Testimonial:
“I am so excited that I almost don’t know what to say. Thank you so much for your nice work and great efforts in the preparation and filing of my case. This is an outcome only possible due to your great teamwork! Thank you very much.”
On February 3rd, 2023, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Research Scientist in the Field of Mechanical Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Mechanical Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Scientist
Country of Origin: China
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Michigan
Approval Notice Date: February 3rd, 2023
Processing Time: 4 months
Case Summary:
In its time working with immigration clients, the North America Immigration Law Group or Chen Immigration Law Associates has come to be known for its high success rates. Over the years, we have gathered over 32,000 successes and have come to specialize in employment-based immigration visas. Our success is driven by the unique way in which we use supportive evidence in petitions to showcase our client’s best features.
Thus, whenever we get clients who want to apply for the EB2-NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition, we make certain that we have every detail of their academic and professional story thus far with us. Our team spins this raw data into their petitions to get them a victory, such as with our Chinese client.
Hailing from China, our NIW client was a mechanical engineering expert. He held a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and had been employed as a research scientist in the field. His proposed endeavor was to work on the development of state-of-the-art wave control approaches based on machine learning and advanced physics in order to identify novel materials for improving the performance of thermal management, energy conversion, sensing, and signal processing technologies. Hence, his research advancing his proposed endeavor is of great importance because it provides the materials necessary to expand the bounds of energy efficiency and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
This was why one of his 4 recommendations said:
“[The client’s] work is inherently important because it provides effective and feasible solutions to personal thermal management and allows the cooling of large areas in an energy-saving and environmentally-friendly manner. As a result, [the client’s] findings hold extensive implications for minimizing energy consumption as well as the impact of climate change in the United States and around the world. In light of the stated significance of such work and his aforementioned research accomplishments, it is clear that [the client] occupies a position at the forefront of the field of mechanical engineering.”
We also found and reported that his proposed endeavor also has broad implications for the United States since his research advancing the proposed endeavor is in direct support of advancing energy efficiency. By identifying materials that offer more effective performance in thermal management, energy conversion, sensing, and signal processing technologies, he provides the means for increasing energy efficiency while maintaining other key performance features.
Due to this evident national importance, his research has been supported with funding from the National Science Foundation, NASA Science Missions Radioisotope Power Systems Program, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., etc.
On the other hand, he has also completed at least 7 reviews to date and his research has resulted in 24 peer-reviewed articles (9 of them first-authored) and 2 U.S. patent application publications which have been cited a total of 223 times according to Google Scholar, thereby demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of mechanical engineering.
This is why another of his recommendation said:
“[The client’s] findings advance the design of more efficient and higher-performing on-chip thermal management devices for high-power semiconductors. [The client’s] developed technologies are better at reusing waste heat, creating cleaner energy, and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions when compared to existing approaches. His phase change-based thermoelectric materials optimally control phase composition and tailor the transport of heat and charge carriers, which benefits waste heat recovery systems used to generate zero-emission electricity. Since [the client’s] work has strong implications for improving the efficiency of energy generation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, his continued work is clearly valuable to the United States.”
This is why his 8 years of research were rewarded with an NIW status just 4 months after applying for the waiver. We are glad to have been of assistance to him in the process.
