On September 8th, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Research Associate in the Field of Environmental Biotechnology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Environmental Biotechnology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Associate
Country of Origin: Iran
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California
Approval Notice Date: September 8th, 2016
Processing Time: 8 months, 10 days
Case Summary:
Exactly 8 months and 10 days after we filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on behalf of a research associate from Iran, the USCIS approved her case. Our client, a professional working in the field of environmental biotechnology, hired us because she knew that we would work diligently to help her get one step closer to green card success. With a Ph.D. in Soil Biotechnology in the bag, we left no room for doubt that our client is armed with the practical and theoretical knowledge to continue conducting outstanding research in the field.
Amongst other things, our client’s comprehensive EB-2 NIW petition packet contained details on her 8 peer-reviewed journal articles (three of them first-authored), eight conference publications and numerous conference presentations. It was also comprised of information on the 35 citations to her work and the times she conducted peer reviews for 5 well-known scientific journals. Alongside these details were six recommendation letters volunteered by other influential members of the environmental biotechnology research community. According to one of them, our client “… is a unique researcher, not only for her comprehensive experimental skills—that range from general laboratory techniques to soil ecosystem techniques, molecular microbial ecology, culturing, and computational statistical analysis —but due to her understanding of molecular and microbial ecosystem ecology.”
Because we were able to prove to the USCIS that our client’s important work on soil biology directly contributes to the US agricultural sector, the USCIS was persuaded to grant her the national interest waiver. This EB-2 NIW approval notice is yet another example of our excellent record of helping our clients obtain green cards. We congratulate our client and thank her for working with our law firm.
