Client’s Testimonial:
“Great news! I received the approval notice for my I-140 application this weekend. Thank you very much for all!”
On April 29th, 2017, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Virology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Virology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow
Country of Origin: Ivory Coast
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Virginia
Approval Notice Date: April 29th, 2017
Processing Time: 4 months, 24 days
Case Summary:
With a Ph.D. in Biology and Virology obtained from a top university in Europe, our client is undoubtedly armed with the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to excel in the field of virology. Her efforts on virus-related illnesses including HIV and encephalitis progress the work of other researchers, which in turn benefits the field as a whole.
Retaining our legal services:
Our client (a postdoctoral fellow from Ivory Coast) approached North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) when she decided that she wanted to move one step closer to a green card. Before taking on her case, we carefully reviewed her credentials to be sure that we could help her obtain the national interest waiver. After confirming that it was possible, we countersigned the retainer agreement and started building a strong EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) case for her.
Building the petition:
In order to convince the USCIS that our client deserved to obtain petition approval, we highlighted the following information in her petition packet:
- We listed the 50 citations gathered from our client’s 4 publications.
- We thoroughly detailed why our client’s findings have directly contributed to the American pharmaceutical industry, health care practices, and public health. Additionally, we proved that her research efforts concerning zinc acetate are contributing to the United States’ ability to prevent the spread of HIV.
- As additional evidence, we included recommendation letters signed by her peers. These six letters supported our argument that our client is one of only a small handful of virologists whose work impacts the US on such a broad scale. According to one of these recommenders: “It is important that [Client] be permitted to remain in the United States so that she can continue to contribute to research in the areas of molecular virology and drug discovery, which are of great significance to public health and the biomedical sciences.”
Securing approval:
Exactly 4 months and 24 days after we filed our client’s NIW petition, the USCIS granted their approval. We congratulate her for coming this far in the lengthy green card process. Now, all that stands between her and a green card is the I-485 application. We wish our client the best with this step and thank her for choosing us to represent her NIW case.
