Client’s Testimonial:
“I would like to thank you for preparing successful application. You guys did a great job.”
On March 30th, 2020, we received another NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Observational and Computational Seismology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Observational and Computational Seismology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Utah
Approval Notice Date: March 30th, 2020
Processing Time: 6 months, 10 days
Case Summary:
A well-known postdoctoral fellow hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on his behalf. Our client, who is based in Utah, holds a Ph.D. in Seismology and has years of experience working in the field of observational and computational seismology.
In order to prove to the USCIS that our client deserved the national interest waiver, we collected a wealth of information on his various achievements in the field. We then included this data in his EB-2 NIW petition packet. For instance, we noted the 19 citations gathered from his work and the 4 published scientific articles to his name. We also detailed the 7 times our client conducted peer reviews for internationally-circulated journals and conferences.
To further fortify our client’s petition, we included recommendation letters which he had gathered from a handful of his peers. These letters advocated for the approval of his EB-2 NIW petition and contained statements such as these:
- “[Client’s] research in the field of observational and computational seismology is pivotal, as it addresses these issues and gleans intriguing new insights in this area through his development of novel methods for obtaining large-scale 3-D structure of the Earth’s interior.”
- “For the sake of scientific progress, all reasonable effort must be made to ensure that [client] is allowed to continue his studies in the United States.”
Perhaps the most important element of our client’s EB-2 NIW petition had to do with his research. As part of our services, we carefully accounted for his work and determined that he is focused specifically on the development of new methods to analyze seismic and other geophysical observations. We established that our client’s research results have directly contributed to our understanding of earth’s internal structure from the shallow crust to the inner core using a variety of seismological and geophysical observations including waveforms generated by earthquakes, noise, other man-made activities, and gravity/magnetic data. Additionally, his research efforts are of great importance because it enhances knowledge of the Earth’s inner structures and dynamic processes (flow in the Earth interior), which controls the motion of the tectonic plates that causes earthquakes mostly on the edges where energy is stored due to friction.
We congratulate our client for obtaining an EB-2 NIW petition approval. We thank him for working with our firm and wish him well as he continues to progress the field of observational and computational seismology.
