Case Summary:

With a Doctor of Engineering in Earth Resources Engineering and extensive experience conducting environmental engineering fieldwork, our client was a suitable candidate for the national interest waiver. When he approached North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) for help with his I-140 petition, we carefully reviewed his qualifications to determine if we could build a strong case for him. • We noted the 13 peer-reviewed journal articles (6 of them first-authored) and numerous conference presentations to our client’s name.
• The 137 times his work was cited by other researchers was also noted. We garnered this number from Google Scholar and other reliable sites such as Scopus, and determined that our client’s findings are progressing the work of other researchers in the field.
• Our client’s impressive peer review record (25 papers reviewed for a handful of well-known scientific journals) was also detailed. As only highly respected researchers in their respective fields are invited to assess the work of their peers, our client’s impressive record denoted his leadership role in the field of environmental engineering.
• Four strong letters of recommendation played an important role in paving the way for case approval. These letters were contributed by other influential scientists, one of whom stated that: “[Client’s] work provides a cornerstone for current and future scientific inquiry. Based on [Client’s] demonstrated value to American environmental and engineering efforts, his experience is of major importance. Halting his work would be detrimental to conservation efforts throughout the United States.”

As we were able to prove the value of our client’s work on municipal solid waste management to the United States, the USCIS was persuaded to grant him the national interest waiver. Our client is now ready to undergo immigrant visa processing (IVP). Essentially, he has to pay the fees and submit the proper paperwork before he and his dependents are invited to attend an interview at the correct American embassy/consulate. Assuming everything goes well, our client and his dependents will each obtain an immigrant visa stamp which allows them to enter the US as permanent residents.
