Case Summary:

A mathematics expert from Bangladesh came to NAILG for his NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. So we made sure that he got the best service possible and that his case got the approval without an RFE. To ensure this our team began checking his documents which contained valuable information which was later to be used in writing his petition letter. Some of the information pieces are as follows:

• His proposed endeavor was to work on the development of sophisticated mathematical models and non-linear data analyzes in order to simulate, monitor, and reduce the spread of viral and bacterial infections.
• His research related to statistical analysis and mathematical epidemiology for the purpose of disease control has great substantial merit and national importance because it provides a framework for analyzing large amounts of nonlinear data which are inherent to infectious disease outbreaks.
• Due to its clear national importance, his research has found support from the National Science Foundation and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) indicating the vested interest of the United States and the world.
• Due to his knowledge and expertise in mathematical modeling and epidemiology, he has also been invited to conduct peer reviews and has completed at least 1 review in the past.
• His research has resulted in 4 peer-reviewed journal articles (3 of them first-authored) which have been cited a total of 27 times according to Google Scholar.
• Furthermore, he has pursued research directly related to his proposed endeavor for 9 years now giving him immense knowledge and experience in the field.
• Along with these factors, another thing that played in our client’s favor was the 4 letters of recommendation that he received from other experts in the field. One of these letters contained the following passage praising our client’s work during the COVID-19 pandemic:

“[Client’s] work is critically connected to the international effort of combating the COVID-19 global pandemic. With more than 2.5 million deaths globally as of late-February 2021, COVID-19 is one of the three deadliest disease outbreaks in well over a century. In terms of tracking the spread of the disease, evaluating social distancing guidelines, and monitoring the roll-out of vaccine doses, the data analytics expertise of [the client] is critical to ensuring that the global research community is addressing the pandemic using the best resources available to it. It is therefore of the utmost importance that he be allowed to move forward with his research efforts in the United States.”

Thus, his case approval was received without an RFE, and that too in a short period of 5 months and 9 days only. We wish him all the very best and look forward to him climbing new heights of success.
