Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you for your message. I am so happy that my I-140 NIW was approved. I am very delighted and happy to work with you and I really appreciate it.”
On May 19th, 2021, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Structural Biology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Structural Biology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow
Country of Origin: Vietnam
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Minnesota
Approval Notice Date: May 19th, 2021
Processing Time: 19 months, 7 days
Case Summary:
A postdoctoral fellow with a Ph.D. in medicine engaged our services to help her file an NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. As a part of our job, we evaluated her credentials to prove their veracity. Her intended research work on applying cryo-electron microscopy and crystallography to study proteins are of great importance in the United States because it improves our understanding of cancer, a disease that claims countless lives and imposes a substantial economic burden globally.
Thus, our team asked her to provide us with all the details of her academic and professional successes so that we could begin to prepare her NIW case and lead her to the NIW victory.
- We observed that her research has been supported by funding grants from leading organizations, including the Carlsberg Foundation, Danish Cancer Society, Danish Council for Independent Research, Lundbeck Foundation, Novo Nordisk Foundation, National Research Foundation of Korea. The receipt of funding from these leading bodies indicates that her research has had a striking influence on the state of research in the field of structural biology.
- In addition, we delved into her publications record, the 6 peer-reviewed journal articles (2 of them first-authored), published in some of the top-notch journals in her field, reflecting her peers’ recognition of the value of this research in the field, garnering the noble 72 citations. Also, many of her papers have in fact been among the most cited in the field.
- It was noteworthy for us to add that her work benefits the United States by helping the nation combat the staggering healthcare costs associated with cancer. Her research provides physicians and researchers in the United States with the insights needed to better treat cancer, thus saving the people of the United States substantial sums. To support the aforementioned information, we added five recommendation letters, obtained by our client from other experts in the field, confirming that her work stands at the vanguard of new techniques to understand the ubiquity of cancer globally and treat it. One of them also stated:
“[Client’s] work contributes to the development of better cancer treatments, which is of great value to the United States. According to the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, cancer has a pronounced impact on American society… Her next-generation work has already provided new knowledge about the cancers that threaten millions of lives in the United States. Her results to date provide sufficient justification for the nation to support her continued studies.”
We are happy that she achieved her NIW petition approval even after a long wait. USCIS spent a good amount of time adjudicating her case, however, our team’s efforts and her patience and cooperation paid off well. We truly thank her for trusting North America Immigration Law Group with her I-140 application, and we congratulate her on continuing to advance her chosen field.
