• So, it was obvious that his proposed endeavor had broad implications for the United States since micro and nanotechnologies are beneficial to a multitude of U.S. sectors, including information technology, homeland security, defense and military, medicine, transportation, energy, food safety, environmental science, and more.
• He is not only substantially improving the efficacy of various technologies through these innovations, but he is also advancing the sustainability of nanotechnology fabrication and is thus also aiding the environmental interests of the nation. The developments he has made, and continues to make, in nanomaterials and micro and nanoscale devices ensure that the United States is a world leader in the most cutting-edge technologies of our time.
• Due to its evident national importance, his research has also been supported with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
