Client’s Testimonial:
Thanks for helping us on the filing the I-140. I really appreciate your help.
On November 15th, 2013 We Received Another EB1-A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) Approval for an Unemployed Researcher in the Fields of Biochemistry and Nanotechnology (Approval Notice)
General Field: Biochemistry and Nanotechnology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: None
National Origin: India
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Georgia
Approval Notice Date: November 15, 2013
Processing Time: 9 days (Premium Processing Service requested)
Case Summary:
The client that we had the opportunity to work with in this case was a researcher from India in the fields of biochemistry and nanotechnology who was not employed at the time her petition was filed. Her doctoral and post-doctoral research had focused on developing and utilizing biosensors and metal nanoclusters for disease detection and diagnostics– topics of study that obviously have great implications for public health and the field of nanotechnology in general. Her work had resulted in at least 11 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 10 invited peer reviews, a patent, and 6 national and international conference presentations- an extremely productive record compared to that of her colleagues in the shared field of endeavor. At the time that her case was filed, her publications had accumulated at least 442 citations, clearly demonstrating that she had influenced her field and garnered international acclaim. In addition, she had conducted 17 paper reviews for journals related to the fields of biochemistry and nanotechnology. The following statement from an international expert showed that her work is important throughout the field, “Although I do not know her personally, I witnessed this presentation and it thoroughly impressed me. [She] was responsible for the conception and creation of electrodes that had the ability to detect uric acid in solution. The electrodes were able to achieve detection by arranging themselves into a monolayer covered the ITO glass electrodes. This technology is coveted by physicians and professionals in the healthcare industry. There are varieties of life-threatening and life-changing conditions that can be treated, but often only if they are detected in their early stages. Some of these conditions include chronic kidney disease, leukemia, gout, and pneumonia. The trait that links these diseases is the presence of uric acid (UA), or urate, in the body. Urate can be found in blood serum and urine, and is the primary end-product of purine metabolism. Detectors that can pick up on the presence of urate can help physicians halt the progression of these diseases, which translates to a large impact on quality of life, survival rates, and quality of care for the countless victims of these diseases, which rank amongst some of the most prevalent in our world.” It was our goal to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that she sought to remain in the United States to continue work in the area of biochemistry and nanotechnology, and that her continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States. With the proof and documentation that we provided, her case was approved in just 9 days.
