On June 19th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Senior Research Associate in the Field of Computer Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Computer Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Senior Research Associate
Country of Origin: India
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Ohio
Approval Notice Date: June 19th, 2017
Processing Time: 10 months, 27 days
Case Summary:
It took almost 11 months for a senior research associate from India to receive an approval notification for his EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition. Despite the long timeline, we were confident that our strong presentation of our client’s skills and research would lead to an approval notice. These are some of the things we focused on when building his EB-1A case:
Building a strong EB-1A case:
Our aim was to prove that our client met at least three out of the 10 EB1A criteria put forth by the USCIS. After evaluating his academic credentials, we determined that he fulfilled the following criteria:
- High publication count: Our client’s relentless work in the field of computer engineering had led to the publication of 39 peer-reviewed scientific articles and one book when we filed his case.
- Notable citation count: We highlighted his exceptional citation record of 349 by using Google Scholar, thus proving that researchers from around the globe are benefitting immensely from his findings.
- Outstanding peer review record: When we filed his case, our client had already conducted 30 peer reviews for various high-impact scientific periodicals.
In addition to the information mentioned above, our client’s EB-1A petition dossier contained information on his doctoral degree in computer science and biomedical imaging, and his research on the development of enhanced computerized medical image analysis methodologies primarily for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. His studies have received widespread acclaim which is evident in the letters of recommendation that were gathered from other influential members of the field, one of whom stated that: “Through his research [Client] has offered innumerable benefits to researchers and medical professionals on an international level… The implications of [his] research are pertinent to the study and treatment of many diseases, cancer being one of the most common.”
The detailed EB1A petition packet that our legal team assembled provided the USICS with cogent proof of the benefits of our client’s research to the United States. We would like to thank our client for seeking our legal assistance to represent his EB1A petition and I-485 application. We would also like to congratulate our client and his dependent for securing US permanent residency.
