Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Wisconsin
Approval Notice Date: April 1st, 2016
Processing Time: 21 Days (Premium Processing Requested)
Case Summary:
A postdoctoral fellow from China approached North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) for help with her EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition. Despite her strong credentials, she realized that she needed help putting together a convincing petition in order to persuade the USCIS to approve her case. As soon as an attorney-client relationship arose, our legal team and support staff immediately got to work. Here are some of the things that we worked on:
- We compiled as much information as we could on our client’s copious professional and academic achievements. For instance, we documented her Ph.D. in Biology, her 15 published articles, and the 265 citations to her work.
- To prove to the USCIS that our client’s insights are highly regarded by other influential molecular biologists, we listed the 16 times she conducted peer reviews for well-known scientific periodicals. We demonstrated that only leaders in the field are invited to judge the work of others and that our client’s impressive record showcases her abilities as a top molecular biologist.
- We reviewed our client’s work on the molecular mechanisms involved in gastroenterology and neurodegenerative diseases and established that her investigations advance the United States medical and drug development sectors. We supported our argument by incorporating five recommendation letters contributed by other experts in the field. These letters served as further evidence that our client’s work is of the utmost importance to the nation and that halting her work in the country would have detrimental long-term effects on all Americans. Here is what one of our client’s recommenders had to say about her work: “Research like [Client’s] that uncovers the signaling pathways that control these muscles is highly important because it deepens our understanding of how these diseases develop and because it provides new drug targets and new strategies for treating these diseases. In light of this information, I consider [Client] to be an outstanding researcher whose work advances American scientific and medical interests.”
The USCIS spent 27 days adjudicating our client’s case before granting their approval. It would have taken far longer (between 4-9 months) had our client not elected to upgrade her case to Premium Processing. 11 days after the upgrade, she received an approval notice. We congratulate her on this milestone and wish her well with her continued investigations.
