Client’s Testimonial:
“I am very glad to find that my I-140 was approved by USCIS. I would like to express my appreciation to your professional services for my case.”
On January 5th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Genomics (Approval Notice).
General Field: Genomics
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow
Country of Origin: China
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California
Approval Notice Date: January 5th, 2017
Processing Time: 119 days (Premium Processing Requested)
Case Summary:
A China-born postdoctoral fellow working in California approached North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) for help with his EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition. He has a strong educational background with a Ph.D. in Genomics and had gained years of rich experience in the field. As part of our services, our team carefully assessed his credentials and noted a few points to be included in the EB1A petition dossier:
– After going through our client’s research summary, we concluded that his research focuses on the genomic analysis of tumors and addresses some of United States’ most pressing issues in understanding genome-wide single nucleotide variation as well as the etiology of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. We convinced the USCIS that our client’s cutting edge work uncovers the driving mutations at work in hepatocellular carcinoma and is immensely significant in the development of novel solutions for cancer treatment.
– Our client’s publication record of 13 peer-reviewed articles along with 1 conference paper was also noted. We noted that these noteworthy publications had amassed 192 citations at the time of filing the EB1A petition.
– In order to fortify our client’s case, we suggested that he collect recommendation letters from other experts in the field of genomics. “[Client’s] discovery of the particular gene expressions involved in lymphoma has revolutionized the way that the medical community characterizes cells with lymphoma mutations. Clearly, advances in cancer research will be severely limited if [Client] is not allowed to continue to participate in his research.” These observations were made by a professor in pathology and served as acknowledgement of the impact of our client’s findings to other researchers. Overall, our client collected 6 such recommendation letters that endorsed his extraordinary ability in the field.
At our client’s request, we upgraded his EB1A petition to Premium Processing (PP) 12 days after filing. Despite our best efforts, the petition was issued a Request for Evidence (RFE). Our team did not falter and instead, powered ahead in an efficient manner. We promptly responded to the RFE and our client subsequently received notification of EB1A approval. Even though the adjudication time was lengthened to 3 months and 28 days (usually it takes 15 days for action to be taken after a request for PP), we are happy that our client received petition approval and is now one step closer to realizing his green card dream. We thank him for working with us and wish him success in his future endeavors.
