On July 12th, 2019, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Research Scientist in the field of Cancer Biology & Therapy (Approval Notice).
General Field: Cancer Biology & Therapy
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Scientist
Country of Origin: India
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Florida
Approval Notice Date: July 12th, 2019
Processing Time: 3 months, 23 days (Premium Processing Requested)
Case Summary:
An Indian Research Scientist based in Florida obtained his EB-1A approval in 3 months and 23 days. Our client requested PP (Premium Processing Service) for his I-140 petition, but received an RFE (Request for Further Evidence) in less than 2 weeks after case filing. As part of our services, North America Immigration Law Group (Wegreened.com) promptly took action and put together a strong response which answered all the challenges raised by the immigration officer. The USCIS subsequently approved our client’s EB-1A petition, bringing him one step closer to a green card.
In preparing our client’s EB-1A petition, we focused on the argument that retaining him in the United States significantly benefits the nation. We backed up our claims by presenting ample supporting documentation that showcased his extraordinary ability in the field of cancer biology & therapy.
Our client’s specialized research has focused on the biology and treatment of bladder cancers with the objective to further understand how bladder cancer cells survive chemotherapy and identifying ways to enhance conventional therapies. At the time we filed his case, our client has published 26 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 2 book chapters. In fact, his research in the field has garnered substantial attention from researchers across the globe, and has contributed to the foundation of further studies throughout the scientific community. This confirmed his impact on an international scale by the 512 citations his work accumulated from leading researchers worldwide. His contributions to the field were also apparent in the 35 peer reviews he conducted for multiple highly esteemed journals. In addition to having many of his studies published in some of the highest impact journals, the applications are effectively in a variety of areas such as oncology, immunology, biotechnology, and biochemistry as well.
In the petition letter, we also discussed our client’s current research projects in detail, including investigating patient samples and cancer cell-lines to study the connections between cancer stem cells, micro-RNAs, genomic rearrangements, designing new therapies that target cancer stem cells and analyzing the mechanisms through which these treatments induce cell death.
We have also strengthened our case by incorporating recommendation letters signed by other prominent experts. According to one of them: “Anti-cancer stem cell therapy is at the center of current advancements in the field of cancer biology and therapeutics. …[Client] and other scientists in the U.S. have produced critical findings about cancer stem cell survival after therapy and have identified a number of pre-clinical therapeutic candidates. This is vital to improving public health in the country, as it enables the development of novel therapeutics to prevent cancer recurrence. As such, any restriction of [Client]’s work puts the lives of Americans suffering from cancer in greater jeopardy, thereby substantiating the continuation of his research career in the country”.
