Client’s Testimonial:
“It is my pleasure to share our successful collaboration on NIW.”
On February 24th, 2023, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Process Engineer III in the Field of Renewable Energy Generation and Storage (Approval Notice).
General Field: Renewable Energy Generation and Storage
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Process Engineer III
Country of Origin: China
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California
Approval Notice Date: February 24th, 2023
Processing Time: 2 months, 18 days
Case Summary:
“[The client], by pioneering progress in next-generation solar energy platforms, as well as innovative battery technologies, directly supports national efforts to encourage sustainable energy growth. Specifically, [the client’s] work expands the applications of tin(II)-based perovskite optoelectronics as a substitute for lead-based optoelectronics within solar cells. It also provides a means to regulate the chemical activities of lithium, which offers advantageous features for metallic lithium batteries. [The client’s] methods are simple and affordable, positively impacting scale-up, higher performance, and more diverse energy applications. To maintain its position of authority within the renewable energy generation and storage sector, the United States must retain the talents of [the client].”
As the above statement clarifies, the client in question is a talented researcher who came to NAILG for his National Interest Waiver approval. As a process engineer expert working on renewable energy generation and storage his proposed endeavor was to continue analyzing materials, conducting performance testing, and developing approaches for perovskite solar materials fabrication to reduce energy consumption and enhance the viability of solar energy and enhance the long-term viability of solar energy. It was thus evident that this research is of great importance because it directly addresses known issues with solar energy systems.
So, while preparing his case we made sure to showcase his work to the best effect. This helped his case a great deal and won him the approval of the adjudication committee. Some of the key factors in this approval were:
- We showed that his proposed endeavor has broad implications for the United States since solar energy is a uniquely large area of interest in the United States. In 2021, the nation’s solar power capacity reached upwards of 97 gigawatts, with over 3% of the country’s electricity derived from solar photovoltaics and other devices.
- We showed that his research has been supported with funding from some of the nation’s premier scientific research institutions, including the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, DOE, DOE EERE, DOE EERE VTO ABR, DOE SC, DOE SC BES, NASA Ames Research Center, NSF, NSF EAR, NSF MRSEC.
- Not only this but he has been invited to conduct at least 18 reviews to date. Additionally, his work has resulted in 13 peer-reviewed journal articles (5 of them first-authored) and 1 published patent application publication.
- And these publications have been cited a total of 514 times according to Google Scholar, thereby demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of renewable energy generation and storage.
- Finally, we added that his 4 years of research in the field have been recognized by 4 recommenders who trusted his work would benefit the U.S. in the long run.
All of this information helped our team win his approval in less than 3 months’ time. We are glad that we could help him in this endeavor and we wish him all the best for his future prospects.
