Client’s Testimonial:
“I am thrilled to hear this news and I am grateful for all the hard work and dedication that you and your team have put into my case.”
On February 4th, 2023, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for an Assistant Research Fellow in the Field of Optical Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Optical Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Assistant Research Fellow
Country of Origin: China
Country of Residence at the Time of Filing: China
Approval Notice Date: February 4th, 2023
Processing Time: 7 months, 6 days
Case Summary:
When a Chinese expert in optical engineering came to us for his National Interest Waiver application, we first made certain that he was equipped with the necessary appended documents for the EB2-NIW case. Once this initial check was complete, we signed the retainer with him and began working on his petition. Some of the information we were able to dig from his documents are as follows:
- As an expert, his research was on combining complex fields modulation techniques, nanophotonics, and artificial intelligence techniques to develop chip optical manipulation and sensing nanodevices in order to improve their applications in biomedical technology, such as tumor cell detection and separation and protein disease detection.
- His research was of importance because of its immense applicability in several crucial sectors. He has also contributed to the next-generation technologies that are inherently valuable to areas in optics and healthcare. Due to this his proposed endeavor also has broad implications for the United States.
- Due to its clear national importance, his research has in fact been supported with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), and NASA’s Innovative Advanced Concepts Program.
- Not only this but one of his 4 recommendations had the following to say about his work:
“[The client] is an optical engineer specializing in nanophotonics, optical manipulation, and optical holography. Due to his many contributions to the field and the crucial nature of continuing to improve optical technology for applications in the biomedical sphere, it is my firm belief that he should continue his research in the United States.”
- His research has also resulted in 16 peer-reviewed journal articles (7 of them first-authored) and 2 conference papers (1 of them first-authored) and these publications have been cited a total of 279 times according to Google Scholar, thereby demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of optical engineering.
- We also added that he has pursued research directly related to his proposed endeavor of combining complex fields modulation techniques, nanophotonics, and artificial intelligence techniques for 10 years.
So, his case was a solid combination of academic and professional achievements and experience of years of research. These made for a strong petition winning him the NIW approval without delay.
We are proud of having worked with him and we wish him all the best for his future career.
