Client’s Testimonial:
“It is our pleasure working with you…”
On November 17th, 2021, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Field of Crop Science (Approval Notice).
General Field: Crop Science
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Research Associate
Country of Origin: Taiwan
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Texas
Approval Notice Date: November 17th, 2021
Processing Time: 8 months, 8 days
Case Summary:
“In recent years, research on wheat yields has fallen far behind that of rice but could be improved by developing new cultivars that would better use nitrogen to produce grain. At the same time, over the past two decades, the U.S.’s share of the global wheat market has fallen as production in the European Union and Russia has increased. In order to maintain its dominance over the global wheat market, it is imperative that the United States permits [the client] to continue his work.”
“His findings support wheat breeding programs in the United States and around the world. In fact, the research discussed in this letter received funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Oklahoma Center for Advanced Science and Technology, and the Oklahoma Wheat Research Foundation. [Client’s] contribution to these government-funded projects proves that his research intrinsically benefits the United States. Therefore, I see no reason why his petition should not be approved.”
These are excerpts from letters of support written in favor of a postdoctoral research associate in the field of crop science from Taiwan. His proposed endeavor is to build on his extensive experience with plant physiology, crop genetics, and plant pathology to identify the molecular and genetic mechanisms behind plant growth under various environmental factors in order to improve the quality and quantity of crop yields. So when he wanted NAILG’s help filing his NIW (National Interest Waiver) application, we made sure his petition contained the following:
- Details of his research endeavor and proof that he was capable of continuing research in the field.
- Evidence showing that his research was of national interest to the United States and the world.
- Proof of his publication record based on his research which has resulted in 7 peer-reviewed journal articles (4 of them first-authored and 2 of them co-first-authored) so far.
- His citation record of 144 according to Google Scholar for these publications was outlined in detail.
- His peer review experience with various prestigious magazines in his field 7 times in the past.
- Proof of his research funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture that he received for his work.
His education, experience, expertise, record of publication and citation, and history of successful research in the field all indicate that our client is well positioned to advance the proposed endeavor. We are thus happy to see his case approved and we wish him all the best in life.
