Client’s Testimonial:
“NAmILG has been providing excellent services through the entire preparations of my case. The documents they prepared were solid, which I think is the reason why my case was approved without an RFE.”
On February 14th, 2020, we received another NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for an Assistant Professor in the Field of Mechanical Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Mechanical Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Assistant Professor
Country of Origin: China
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California
Approval Notice Date: February 14th, 2020
Processing Time: 5 months, 29 days
Case Summary:
With an M.S. in mechanical engineering and many years of experience progressing the same field, our client (an assistant professor) had suitable credentials to file his I-140 petition under EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver). Our attorneys and support staff worked diligently to compile as much relevant information as we could to build a strong case for our client.
Petition Contents:
Our client’s EB-2 NIW petition dossier was partly composed of his professional accomplishments such as his 5 peer-reviewed journal articles (3 of them first-authored) and 6 peer-reviewed conference papers (5 of them first-authored) which gathered 61 citations demonstrating that our client’s publications are widely recognised and relied upon in the field of mechanical engineering. We also listed the 7 times our client judged the work of his peers. As only top-level experts are invited to perform review work, our client’s review activity highlighted his important standing in the field.
Furthermore, we accounted for our client’s research on the development of large deployable structures and robotic arms. We then concluded that he qualifies for the national interest waiver as his work is of great benefit to the United States because it leads to the development of novel systems and designs for robotics technologies and deployable structures, as well as other components of mechanical frameworks widely used throughout the world in many disparate disciplines.
To further strengthen our client’s EB-2 NIW petition, we included 5 recommendation letters contributed by other experts in the field. Their letters advocated for the approval of our client’s EB-2 NIW petition by verifying the value of his work to not just the research community but to the U.S. as a whole. One of our client’s recommenders described his work as: “Many patients in the United States have benefited from such systems, receiving more targeted medical care and incurring fewer risks of complications, scarring, and blood loss while also experiencing improved recovery times. [Client’s] work with robot arm control and capabilities helps surgical professionals in the United States provide better care to their patients and supports the development of new treatments and operating procedures for millions around the country.”
Overall, it was 5 months and 29 days before the USCIS approved our client’s EB-2 NIW case, and we are pleased that they granted approval. We thank our client for trusting our law firm for his NIW petition. We congratulate him on this milestone and wish him well as he continues to advance the field of mechanical engineering.
