On April 25th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Field of Materials Science (Approval Notice).
General Field: Materials Science
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Research Associate
Country of Origin: China
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Tennessee
Approval Notice Date: April 25th, 2017
Processing Time: 6 days (Premium Processing Requested)
Case Summary:
Nebraska Service Center (NSC) recently approved the EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition of a materials science researcher based in Tennessee. The short adjudication period of 6 days was made possible after our client chose to utilize the Premium Processing service offered by the USCIS. This enabled him to enjoy expedited adjudication on his petition within 15 days as opposed to the normal timeframe of 4-9 months.
As EB-1A is one of the toughest I-140 categories to secure approval, the team at North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) carefully examined our client’s academic and professional profile for relevant information that could be included in the petition. These are some of the key points we presented to the USCIS:
- The details of his strong research background that provides elucidation of the physical properties and structure-property relationships of nanoscale functional materials. His studies, as acknowledged by numerous experts in the field, benefit the United States by facilitating the growth of advanced electronics and energy-harvesting technologies.
- As proof of the wide reaching impact of his research, we submitted his publication record of 24 peer-reviewed scientific articles that were cited 221 times. This showed that his findings are helping his peers in the field who are also engaged in research.
- We noted that he has contributed to the field in different capacities. For example he has serving as a Session Chair for several conferences and conducted at least 30 peer reviews.
- Further corroboration of the significance of his research was provided through letters of recommendation written by distinguished materials scientists. They lauded our client’s “unique ability to make novel discoveries”. One of these recommenders stated that our client’s work “… has already helped advance our understanding of new electronic materials. It makes [Client] one of the most valuable and irreplaceable researchers in the field. [His] research up to date has proven his phenomenal ability as a scholar.”
With the EB1A I-140 approval in hand, our client is now one step closer to his green card. We join him as he celebrates his EB1A win and we wish him the very best as he adjusts his status for permanent residence with the help of our free D.I.Y. I-485 Packet.
