Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you so much for your help with my case preparation. I had a great experience working with your team. I appreciate all your quick responses and thorough review of the application materials.”
On September 28th, 2016, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for an Assistant Professor in the Field of Biomedical Informatics (Approval Notice).
General Field: Biomedical Informatics
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Assistant Professor
Country of Origin: China
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Kentucky
Approval Notice Date: September 28th, 2016
Processing Time: 9 Days (Premium Processing Requested)
Case Summary:
With a Ph.D. in Computer Science and extensive experience conducting biomedical informatics fieldwork, our client is certainly a force to be reckoned with. Her leadership role in the field has led to the collection of various accolades, some of which include an impressive citation count (150 citations at the time of filing) and publication record (27 scientific articles).
At the free evaluation stage, North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) made sure that we could build a strong EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) case on our client’s behalf and once we determined that we could, we initiated an attorney-client relationship. Besides her citation and publication record, we also noted the 20 times she assessed the work of her peers for scientific journals. As journal editors only invite the cream of the crop to judge the work of others, our client’s notable peer review record attested to the value of her insights and opinions to others working in the field.
We prompted our client to reach out to a handful of her peers to gather their support. We needed them to sign recommendation letters that verified the significance of her investigations on the development of software for clinical natural language processing, and biomedical text extraction. Not only did these experts briefly discuss our client’s research, they also confirmed its importance to the United States, especially when it comes to medical research and diagnoses. We have no doubt that their support lent a heavy hand in convincing the USCIS that our client deserved to have her EB-1A petition approved. As an example, this is what one of them signed off on: “Her steady stream of key triumphs in computer science and biomedical informatics has propelled her to the forefront of a cutting-edge and fast-paced field. It is clear to me that [Client] will continue to produce sustained success for many years to come.”
As our client elected to file her EB-1A petition under Premium Processing (PP), she received notification of case approval just 9 days later. We are especially pleased that the USCIS did not issue a Request for Evidence (RFE) as it would have increased the overall wait time by a couple of months at the very least. As the cherry on top of the cake, our client recently secured I-485 approval, which makes her an official American permanent resident. We thank her for working with us and wish her the best as she continues to conduct impactful research here in the US.
