Approval Notice Date: January 12th, 2017

Case Summary:

With a doctoral degree and years of experience progressing the field of stem cell biology, our client seemed like a shoo-in for EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval. Even so, we carefully evaluated his credentials to be sure that his chances of obtaining petition approval were high, and once we confirmed that we could build a solid case for him, we countersigned the retainer agreement.

In preparing our client’s EB1A petition, we paid close attention to the various achievements that resulted from his hard work. For instance, we noted the 21 times he was invited to assess the work of his peers for multiple scientific journals. We also listed the 212 citations collected from his 8 well-received publications. Furthermore, we carefully reviewed and summarized his work on the properties of intestinal and neural stem cells and the role of stem cell dysregulation in aging and the physiological condition. We then listed the various benefits that our client’s findings have to the United States such as the development of better treatments and therapeutics for neurodegeneration associated with aging, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

To further solidify our client’s EB-1A petition, we urged him to reach out to other experts in the field and ask for recommendation letters. These letters supported our argument that our client is one of only a small handful of researchers who is held in such high esteem by other members of the scientific community. In the words of one of his recommenders: “As a stem cell biologist, [Client] has repeatedly produced research that has enabled him to remain at the forefront of this evolving field. In my estimation, he has no suitable replacement at this time.” Another expert echoed his sentiments by stating: “[Client] has proven himself to be among the top researchers in stem cell biology today and is an indisputable asset to the United States.”

Filing with Premium Processing (PP):

Just 3 days after North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) filed the EB1A petition on our client’s behalf, we received word that his petition had been approved. Usually, it takes the USCIS between 4-9 months to adjudicate I-140 petitions but because our client paid an additional $1,225 and filed his case under PP, he heard back from them within 15 calendar days. We congratulate our client for overcoming this significant milestone in the green card process, and we wish him the best as he adjusts his status for permanent residence by filing an I-485 application with the help of our D.I.Y. Packet.
