Client’s Testimonial:
“That’s great news. Thank you very much for all of your help and wonderful job that you did.”
On April 14th, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Field of Chemical Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Chemical Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Scholar
Country of Origin: Iran
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California
Approval Notice Date: April 14th, 2016
Processing Time: 8 months, 3 days
Case Summary:
A talented postdoctoral scholar from Iran engaged the legal services of North America Immigration Law Group to assist him with the compilation and submission of an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. Before initiating the contract, we thoroughly reviewed our client’s credentials to determine if we could build a strong case on his behalf. After confirming that we could, a privileged attorney-client relationship was secured.
Part of our services included incorporating evidence that supported our client’s EB-2 NIW petition. This included helping him select potential recommenders who could confirm the value of his research to the United States. After we confirmed that the shortlisted candidates were experts in the field and were familiar with our client’s work, we encouraged our client to contact them for recommendation letters. Our client’s persuasive efforts led to six signed letters, all of which briefly detailed our client’s research projects and their importance to the nation. For instance, this is what one of the recommenders had to say: “[Client’s] extraordinary research is dedicated to bettering our energy production and storage technologies; his presence is thus necessary for ensuring that the United States continues to adapt to and thrive in the changing global climate, which has limited our ability to rely on more conventional energy sources. I fully support [Client’s] goal to remain working here, and I hope you will join me in doing the same.”
Our legal services also involved reviewing our client’s research summary (which he was responsible for preparing to help us better understand his achievements and research focus). Based on what we read, we concluded that his studies focus on the application of engineering experimentations and computer simulations to alternative energy and clean energy research. We then determined that his work improves the United States’ energy independence and environmental mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as advances the clean energy, nanotechnology and biomaterials industries. Our client’s research had led to the publication of 7 papers that had accumulated 39 citations at the time of filing.
When our client’s EB-2 NIW case was considered outside the normal processing time, we raised a service request with the USCIS to enquire about the progress of his case. Less than two months after they responded to our service request (by informing us that our client’s petition was in line to be reviewed), they granted their approval. We congratulate our client on this milestone and wish him the best with his continued investigations in the field of chemical engineering.
