Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you very much for the great news, all your helps and guidance. It was such a long wait! I will certainly be happy to recommend your firm on the website and to my friends.”
On April 7th, 2016, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Field of Biochemistry (Approval Notice).
General Field: Biochemistry
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Associate
Country of Origin: China
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Massachusetts
Approval Notice Date: April 7th, 2016
Processing Time: 13 months, 26 days
Case Summary:
Nearly 14 months after North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) filed an I-140 petition on a Chinese postdoctoral associate’s behalf, he received notification of case approval. Based on our client’s credentials, we determined that he qualified to file his petition under the EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) visa category. Seeing that EB-1A is upheld by a very high standard of law, we needed to convince the USCIS that our client’s work is of value to the United States and that allowing him to continue his research efforts in the country is beneficial to the nation.
Petition Contents:
Our client’s EB-1A petition contained a myriad of information on his professional and academic accomplishments. We detailed his 17 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 10 conference presentations, as well as the 347 citations to his work. We also noted the 15 times he conducted peer reviews for several prominent scientific periodicals. As part of our services, we reviewed our client’s research summary and concluded that his investigations (on genetically encoded Ca2+ indicators, all-optical electrophysiology, bright and fast voltage reporters, and microfluidic cell sorter-aided directed evolution approaches) significantly impact various American industries. In addition to data on our client’s achievements, we also included six petition letters signed by our client’s peers. Ranging from research group leaders to professors, our client’s recommenders are made up of other leaders in the field of biochemistry. Their recommendation letters advocated for the approval of his EB-1A petition and contained statements like this one: “[Client’s] scientific acumen is unparalleled by that of his peers, and I sincerely hope that he is able to continue his important work in the United States, where he would be in close collaboration with the most brilliant synthetic biologists, chemists and neuroscientists in the world…”
Case Approval:
There is no denying that it was a long and winding road to case approval—amongst other things, it involved raising three service requests on our client’s behalf when the processing time went beyond the norm. At the end of the day, we are very pleased that our client is now significantly closer to a green card. We congratulate him on this milestone and wish him well as he continues to progress the field of biochemistry.
