General Field: Organic Chemistry
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow
Country of Origin: Taiwan
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Texas
Approval Notice Date: February 5th, 2016
Processing Time: 6 months, 2 days
Case Summary:
A postdoctoral fellow from Taiwan hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to refine and strengthen his EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. It took the USCIS over six months to review this case before they decided to grant their approval.
Our legal team went to great lengths to understand and account for our client’s many research projects on organometallic chemistry and the synthesis of important ligands and compounds. We demonstrated that his work contributes to the United States’ green energy initiative, as the pincer and bidentate ligands he is currently developing are environmentally friendly throughout several applications in catalysis. Our skilled legal team also established that his substitution with another researcher with similar qualifications would adversely impact the national interest of the United States.
In an effort to further fortify our client’s EB-2 NIW case, we incorporated recommendation letters that he had gathered from other experts in his field of organic chemistry. These letters played a crucial role in demonstrating the value of our client’s insights to the scientific community. One of them stated that “[Client] has gained a reputation of producing highly relevant research results. With this in mind, I firmly believe that if [Client’s] research were no longer able to continue in the United States, advancements pertaining to isomerization would be substantially impacted.” These testimonials were supplemented with data on our client’s 10 publications that had collected 26 citations at the time of filing.
We recently filed I-485 applications (final step in green card proceedings) for our client and his spouse, and alongside them, eagerly await the approval notice from the USCIS. We thank our client for choosing us to represent his case and we wish him all the best with his continued investigations in the field of organic chemistry.
